LTHForum,

Fina Estampa recently opened* in the old Mr. Pollo space with a focus on charcoal fired rotisserie chicken.

Image

Spartan, spacious, spotless, reasonably priced, quarter chicken with fries and salad for $6 made for a satisfying lunch.

Image

Marinated breast/wing was moist with penetrating flavor, leg/thigh more so.

Image

Fries were hand cut, lettuce salad fresh and innocent appearing table sauce packed a punch.

All was not perfect, Steve Z, who I had the pleasure of lunching with, and I both ordered quarter dark chicken, but received both light and dark, and the hoped for charcoal crisp skin was flaccid as if the chicken had been held though it was the heart of lunch hour.

In sum, Fina Estampa is solid Peruvian style chicken, good value $6 lunch, but at this point, open less than one month, not a destination.

Enjoy,
Gary

Definately not a destination...especially since the far superior Brasa Roja is only a few doors down the street.
