queequeg's_steak was simply expressing an opinion that was contrary to LTH's group-think (albeit in an exaggerated way). I recall receiving mild approbation on LTH years ago for expressing a lack of appreciation of Patty's Diner.

But I don't understand why the fuck we were all denied the opportunity to read at least six dissenting opinions.

    Weren't they "honest" enough?

Whether or not they were dissenting opinions, snark, funny, or whatever, they were pulled because, by making personal attacks on another poster, they violated the posting guidelines. It's great to disagree, but there's no reason for ad hominem attacks.

The posting guidelines are here: LTHForum Posting Guidelines. The first line is:

If we were to reduce the entire LTH Forum posting policy to four words, it would be these: Be civil. Be relevant.

But threatening to throw objects at others doesn't violate those same guidelines? Guess I'll have to go study up on "civil" and "relevant", because I guess those words don't mean what I thought they did.

For those of you wondering what Doug's been up to, here's a tidbit from the Hot Doug's FB page:

What do Dee Snider and Hot Doug have in common? Besides both being famous for wearing a lot of makeup in the 80's, both are appearing in the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade this Thursday. Watch Doug wave a lot on WGN 9 Chicago and WGN America from 8:00am to 11:00am.
A very happy Thanksgiving to you & yours, my friends!

I'm excited to go try this. I had a Chicago Dog there once, which wasn't very good, but hopefully this one is done a bit better. It's cool they did it. Mmmmm. Craving that thing right now...

The Foie Gras dog was my 'go to' order @ Hot Doug's. Here the Foie doesn't look quite the same; the bun looks like it needs to spend some time in Miami getting tanned. Has anybody tried it?

Come June 27 and 28, Hot Doug's will be brought back as a two-day festival at the Goose Island Barrel Warehouse (605 N. Sacramento Blvd.) in Humboldt Park. The event, called Dog Dayz of Summer, will be divided into four ticketed sessions, at noon and 5 p.m. each day. Tickets are $75 and entitle you to all the sausage sandwiches and duck fat fries you can eat.

Was so excited, initially. I was going to bring the wife and kids and everything, since it even bills itself as a family friendly event. But then I saw the tix were $75 a pop, which is a pretty expensive family outing, not even factoring in potential crowds potentiated by ample beer. Bummer, because it looks awesome otherwise, and I wholly support Doug in any and all of his (ad)ventures.

I will be a die-hard Doug's fan until I die (#13 on the last day!) but I can't justify paying $75 for an experience that won't even come close to all the great times I had at the original.

Ok, Driving thru the South Side this afternoon I passed the Giordanos on 52nd and Pulaski. On their sign it said: "Try Our Hot Doug's Firedog Pizza"

My questions are this: 1) Is this a all Chicagoland Giordanos Special or just this location 2) if only at this location does Hot Dougs have a south side following? and 3) does this sound appealing? I am assuming a "Firedog" would be along the lines of a pepperoni depending on how they use it.

The Hot Doug's Atomic Sausage pizza appears to be permanently on the menu @ Piece Brewery and Pizzeria, and it's really good. From their menu:

    Hot Doug's Atomic Sausage Pizza
Red pizza with pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions and Hot Doug's famous Atomic Sausage.

We typically order it and add pepperoni. Great stuff! And also, not that this applies to me, but a Hot Doug's tattoo does not get you this pizza for free (even though maybe it should! :P).
