I just wanted to bump this post because Nha Hang is still kicking out amazing Vietnamese food. This place was so good when we first tried it in early 2014 that it inspired us to go to Vietnam in early 2015. It was an amazing experience and we ate a lot of incredibly delicious food. It also made us appreciate Nha Hang even more. Nha Hang has an overwhelmingly large menu where nearly everything is at least pretty good and certain dishes are only a hair's breadth away from places in Vietnam that specialize in only a handful of things. It is a truly remarkable little place.
It sounds like others know this. If you are working your way through this menu like us, please post! Here are some unmentioned favorites:
chao vit - This is probably the best congee I have eaten out anywhere. Made with stock, not just water, and it is very aromatic with ginger and seasoned with fish sauce. The plentiful duck pieces are just the fried shallots on the goi.
canh chua ca - Such a delicious sour soup balanced with some nice fruity flavors from the pineapple. Love the produce in the bowl and wish it had even more tomatoes and pineapple.
bun mang vit - Here is the broth is flavored with dried bamboo shoots. I quite liked it, but it is a bit more subtle than the other intense soups available.
banh mi bo kho - I know I have mentioned this before, but it bears reiterating that this is some extremely flavorful beef stew and for whatever reason always seems to have the best fatty tender beef cuts.
suon non muoi sa ot - This is mistranslated. This is not simmered, but grilled or pan seared pork ribs in an delicious rub of chilies and lemongrass and of course fish sauce. Really good, if a bit skimpy on the meat for the price.
I regret that we haven't really tried any of the stir fries. Any recommendations on a xao xa ot preparation or a noodle stir fry?
