Last month business took me to Elgin, so after reading about Benedict's on this thread, I decided to stop in there for lunch. I tend to like breakfast places -- especially ones where you can order breakfast at any hour -- and it turned out be a good decision. My companion and I had a very enjoyable lunch . . .

Wild Salmon Club Sandwich (seasonal special) | wild Alaskan salmon, bacon, tomato, lettuce, bacon, sourdough toast



Crab & Avocado Omelet | Maryland blue crab, avocado, Monterey Jack cheese, touch of hollandaise

For a breakfast fan like myself, their menu (.pdf) was very appealing, with lots of tempting choices. In fact, if it were not for the fact that it was it business setting, I may have ordered a couple more items.

I have no idea when I'll be back in the area but I won't hesitate to stop in again when I am.

They serve a good breakfast and lunch menus seven days a week. They also serve dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.

My sister lives about 6 blocks from the Dundee location and raves about this place. I haven't had a chance to go there with her but may have to do that soon, the photos make the food look outstanding!
