I spoke to the owner yesterday as he was doing some final painting. He said they will open on Friday.

Really. It's hard to believe - it somehow magically stayed open despite operating just three months (or whatever) out of the year for such a long time, I just assumed they had some sort of amazing restaurant mojo.

The Carriage House to open Sept. 18.

So BellyQ has a separate name for their to-go business - BQ2Go.

I wonder if Carriage House will try to brand their carry-out, with a name based on another type of outbuilding common in the south.

Crêpes à Latte in North Center closed, according to Center Square Journal, and their website is defunct. I don't have a whole lot to add, except that I went there a couple times and it was OK.

Just stopped in to see what the place is like and found out that the owner was the former owner of Park Pointe Grill in Fresh Farms. He said they needed the space and bought him out, so the benefits are twofold: more yummy to come at Fresh Farms, and another place to eat near work. They have a handful of salads and sandwiches pre-made, and a nice selection of French and Mid East sweets. They have individual marjolaines!!

Firewood Kabob located at 1663 N Buffalo Grove Rd in Buffalo Grove opened yesterday. Open from 11 AM- 8 PM. They offer Kabob's, Falafel, Baba Ghanoush, Hummus, and more.

I had the menu for the place in hand when I typed the post, the name of the place is indeed Firewood Kabob. They have a web site listed at the bottom of the menu as http://www.firewoodkabob.com This URL will take you to a very basic web site.

Team behind Vie to open a German restaurant within a restaurant.

Looks like they are open for dinner now. I bicycle-commute to work most days (when weather's nice) and ride past this place. Tonight, they were definitely open, and I am pretty sure I smelled the aroma of food cooking over wood.
