After about a year, Debbie Sharpe is closing her The Goddess and Grocer cafe at 5318 N. Clark St. The restaurant’s last day will be Aug. 27, according to Sharpe.

If you hadn't noticed, it's because they didn't have any signage until last week; and the signage they did put up is hard to see since it's black against a dark red brick background.
The menu is small: five appetizers, seven non-pizza entrees, and six pizza options with pre-determined ingredient combos and no indication that you can select your own ingredients, though if push comes to shove I'm sure they'll work with you. At any rate it's getting very high praise on Yelp and Facebook and it looks to be worth checking out.

The previous iteration featured a whimsical and rusting feel.

I peeked inside before my haircut* and it was clean, neat, tidy, spartan and appeared to be reasonably priced.
I will try soon and report back.

It has since closed, which is puzzling considering the 245 reviews and 4.5-star rating on Yelp would indicate it was well-liked and well-trafficked.
Not long ago there was a banner hanging in the window that read "Coming Soon: The Cabin [the tavern next door] presents The Kid Picnic Basket, an old-fashioned sandwich shop." The banner has since been taken down but a call to The Cabin confirms that a sandwich shop is still in the works.
