    Important Reminder:

    LTH,

Please, do not post about a closing without making absolutely certain that your information is correct and accurate in every way.

Please, do not post rumors of closings without linking to a credible, 3rd-party source that substantiates your report. (i.e. "Eater.com reports . . ." is ok)

It's far more important to be accurate than early with your information. The best course of action may be to make a phone call to the establishment before posting anything. But whatever you do, make sure you are 100% correct before posting about a closing on this thread or any other in these forums.

    Thanks again,

    =R=

Crawford's Food & Spirits opened in Avondale last week on School and Milwaukee, just SE of the Milwaukee/Pulaski intersection. Looks like standard pub fare with some contemporary touches; menu available here (pdf download).

Graze Kitchenette has departed from Revival Food Hall, and now through March, BopNGrill will operate in the same stall previously occupied by Graze. I checked out the BopNGrill space and their menu offers various burgers, rice plates and kimchi fries.

A new concept from the Honey Butter Fried Chicken folks will take over the stall beginning in April.

La Estanica has (reopened) in downtown sleepy Riverside.

They opened earlier last year in the old Erika's Deli spot across from the water tower - never changed the name though. A sudden closing a few months ago was supposedly caused by building issues. They have now completed their name transformation and are back in business.

Tamales, tacos and salads all are very good - especially the pastor (imho).

Lincoln's O in downtown Highland closes after a half century
One of the Region's oldest and most beloved sandwich shops, Lincoln's O in downtown Highland, has served its final U.S. Steel Special after 55 years.

Lincoln's O posted signs on its storefront at 2813 Highway Ave. saying "closed up, thank you for 55 years in NWI 1963-2018" and "we will redeem gift cards send to 2813 Highway Ave., Highland, IN 46322."

The O stood for original. There are also Lincoln Carry Outs sandwich shops in Crown Point and Hobart with similar menus that are under different ownership and remain open.

Urban Crosta, in Streeterville, is now gone.
It has been replaced with something called Streeterville Pizza.

That's the fourth pizza place in that same space. Two of them (Robert's and Urban Crosta) have been very good. The prior place was decent. We will see how this place goes, since it seems to be same ownership group as Urban Crosta.

If they dumb-down the menu, I doubt it will work. There are too many good pizza options in the area to do something routine.

This has to be just a switch in location, as the only Frio Gelato I've ever known was on the same block 1-2 doors east of Blind Faith.

Yes, Frio Gelato is moving, and they'll be open year 'round, with a little bit of eats to get them through the cold months.

If memory serves, the place was a Baskin-Robbins before it became two different bake-at-home pizza places. The B-R lasted a good long time (unlike either of the pizza places), so I expect Frio Gelato will do well on that corner too.

(BTW, what about the neighborhood makes you say it's "up and coming"? I have always liked that part of Evanston, and it seems essentially the same today as it's been for the last 50 years. Thankfully.)

For lack of a better word It's become artsy fartsy in a good way.The bagel art coffee place by the purple line is a nice little spot as are the antique shops, trader joe's,and other shops that have opened in the area. It's a nice little area in Evanston as is Main street/Chicago ave,and Noyes/Purple line

Just spotted in the "Journal and Topics"
    https://www.journal-topics.com/articles ... -eye-niles

"Among the confirmed new restaurants coming to the village is the Al Bawadi Grill, serving Middle Eastern fare in the former July Like Home restaurant space on Dempster Street near Greenwood Avenue.

Klicker said Al Bawadi Grill owners closed on the purchase of the Just Like Home building about six weeks ago when that restaurant closed.

Al Bawadi Grill is a family run business that currently operates a Middle Eastern restaurant in Bridgeview."

    So I'm excited!
