My wife and I dined at the Loyalist on Saturday 12/30/17. Arrived at 4 pm, and had a couple of cocktails while we waited for the kitchen to open at 5pm.
Overall, we were quite impressed with the food and drinks. We thought the value was good too. Around $130 for this meal before tip. That included a few other non-pictured cocktails/cider/beer. The highest point of the meal was the duck leg. Just exquisite. Burrata and the dessert were also very good. The weakest link in our progression was the much heralded burger. Thought that the meat was outshined by all of the onions and condiments. However, the fries and fried garlic aioli were excellent. The biscuit was also a mild disappointment, while very flaky, it was on the dry side and lacked in butteryness. So it ended up really just a vessel for the N'duja rather than a compliment.
Cocktails were well crafted. A decent list of bottles/cans for beer. Although, I'm always wary of the freshness of IPA bottles/cans at restaurants. Ended up having a Hopewell First Lager during the meal and it was canned in July. Now it's a lager that isn't quite as dependent on hops as some of the other IPA on the menu so it wasn't bad but if I had ordered one of the IPA's and it was from July I would have sent it back. Fernet Branca and Sparrow coffee to finish with dessert were nice.
