A colleague and I stopped in to have a glass of wine and a bite to eat on a Friday night. We arrived at 4:30 to an empty restaurant and it was packed by 6pm. It is a very warm, Italian kitchen vibe and was a perfect place to sit on a cold winter night. We sat at the bar and experienced some hiccups in service with a manager eventually tending to us after waiting over an hour for someone to check on us after our initial glass of wine. There is a nice list of wines by the glass and a few classic, featured cocktails. We both had red (Cabernet and Montepulciano). We started with the mushroom bruschetta which was a generous portion cut into 8 pieces. Warm and earthy and a nice start. We also ordered the Pear Salad which was too heavily salted and too lightly dressed but conceptually a good idea and perhaps fell prey to a slammed kitchen. We finished with a plate of the gnocchi which melted in your mouth but was the smallest plate of the evening.

Pros: Many seats at the bar and along the windows on Sheffield. Hooks under the bar for purses. Warm, neighborhood vibe. Great decor and atmosphere. Interesting menu with many, many bites to return and try

Cons: Service kinks need to be worked out. Close quarters with no choice but to hear everyone's conversation around you.

Suggestion: I would love to see half-glasses of wine offered (a la Appellation)
