Hi, I finally made it over to Quench! The Experience on the west side. Had grilled catfish with sauted spinach and cabbage as sides. The food was so delicious and healthy and reasonably priced. The restauarant is also nicely decorated with the work of local artists. I didn't have my camera with me so I couldn't take pictures. I'll definitely be returning to try their other entrees and sides.

I would love to hear about the other Quench locations and also their breakfast items. Quench! The Experience is in the Austin district, on Madison not too far east of Austin. You can find the menu here: http://www.ilovefoodgroup.com/QuenchTheExperience.html

Here's a cltv video I stumbled upon. There is an informative interview with the owners on the philosophy behind their business. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAdQUxFvitc

Quench! has done a good bit of catering for meetings I've hosted at work. The food is always a crowd pleaser: it tastes like something your grandmother would have cooked for a Sunday family dinner.

I haven't actually been to one of the physical locations of the restaurant, but if the catering is any indication, this is definitely a place that should garner some LTH love. Quentin, the owner, is a real stand-up guy and a pleasure to work with. It feels good to support an operation like this, which has a personal -- rather than corporate or 'packaged' -- sensibility.

After hearing how wonderful the turkey burgers were, I tried one from the 47th and Michigan location. Overlooking the youngbucks congregating on the corner, the burger was good, but not Thats-A-Burger good. However, the burger was made fresh and moist, unlike the "BEST" turkey burgers @ SRO's.

Next time, I'll try a different location. It looks like they have spots on 71st and 79th.

I went to Quench the Experience for the second time, and I'll definitely be going back again and again in the future. The first time I went I had the grilled catfish (which has a nice herb rub), very good candied yams, and a healthy, tasty, and very generous portion of sauteed spinach with tomatoes and onions. The second time I had their grilled turkey chop (which again has the herb rub; there is also a smothered turkey chop), yummy mac and cheese, and italian green beans (in spicy tomato sauce). The prices are extremely reasonable--8$ for the turkey chop plus two sides--and portions are big. Service is very warm and friendly. The decor is bright and contemporary. Quench and the I Love Food Group seem to be doing a great thing in Chicago, bringing healthy, tasty soul food to underserved communities. Check it out!
