We got there at 3 p.m., which may be on the late side, as some vendors were already packing up, but there was still plenty of stuff to choose from and a number of stalls were marking things down at the end of the day.
Not being an early-morning person, I love the hours of this market, and the fact that they encourage the farmers to pick the produce in the morning before bringing them to the afternoon market that day.
Prices were good. There were all kinds of vegetables, though tomatoes, peppers, summer squash and sweet corn dominated; many herbs; and bedding plants. Not much fruit, but that may be because of this season's disastrous weather. Outside the market proper somebody had set up on the street with blueberries and peaches they said came from Tennessee. Also a variety of food trucks, but they were also shutting down by 5 p.m.
I will be back.
