    Any good places for pie?

    Hi,

In LaSalle County, the focus is fried chicken. :D

If you find good pie, please do share!

According to Google, there are a number of diners and cafés in the area that are breakfast/lunch places. There's a good chance one of them will have good pie. It's funny how you can find things in unlikely places. Up on Route 30 in Shabbona is Screamers Ice Cream. They bake their own bread for their sandwiches. Decent soft-serve, but great bread.

    Good luck on your quest!

    Hi,

You may want to still ask if any place you visit make their own pies. Once in Iowa, a diner well known for pie admitted their pies are made at the local IGA to their recipes.

Let us know the outcome of your trip.

You might consider Serena Cafe in Serena, IL, a couple of miles southwest of Sheridan. I drove past it some time ago while looking for a late lunch after canoing on the Fox River. It was closed but I liked its looks (Yelp says it closes daily at 1:30).
