I bought some nice, frozen lake perch filets. They have skin on them. Do I have to remove the skin before sauteing? Everyone I ask seems to have a different opinion, same with recipes.

No need to remove the skin.

Yes, remove the skin the same way you would a bunch of grapes and enjoy.

(No, really, the skin is the best part and I can't imagine how you'd remove it and have any fish left unless they are monster lake perch.)

My car failed the emissions test, my dishwasher blew up again, I got a flippin parking ticket parked outside my front door (forgot to move it on street cleaning day while dealing with a work related crisis.)

I SO needed that near the end of this Friday workday. Hilarious. Thanks. Seriously.

Ah, more hilarity ensues. Brenly just said on national Tv, "This is pretty obviously a bad game for the Cubs...what with the 5 errors and all."

If anyone wants to laugh at my misfortune, I think this was pretty hilarious myself:
The dishwasher repairman came out this am. Part of my (newly replaced in the past 14 months) board was obviously burnt. The last one was burnt in a different spot. I asked him why is this happening? His response, without batting an eye:

"Because your dishwasher is a piece of garbage. It's a shame too, because you spent a lot on it. These models are pretty exepnsive."

He then proceeded to show me all of the burn marks inside the machine where the wiring was not shielded anywhere close to properly to handle the heat of the heating element. Loved his bluntness. Loved it.

Oh yeah - leave the skin on the perch.

There was just a recall on a bunch of GE manufactured dishwashers (some other brands besides GE, including Hotpoint and a few others I hadn't heard of affected as well) due to faulty heater elements causing them to catch on fire. Could yours be one of the affected models?

Link to Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice.

Thanks, Mr. Z. -
He definitely explained massive the recall to me, but as I understood it, my Kitchenaid (or, "Overpriced Whirlpool" as I'll call it from here on out) is not one of them. I'm gonna start hitting up Kitchenaid to see if they'll do something about this thing. Not holding my breath or anything.

And in about three seconds, I find this:

Of course, Whirlpool, Kitchenaid, Sears all say their products are fine. The explanations of the issues are exactly what happened to my machine. The board fried, and wires fried/melted. Pretty scary that some reports say it happened when the thing wasn't even on.
