Terrific event, fun, tasty, delicious and one of the most well run events I've been. Seth, Mike and Andre should be running a major American city, they'd do a better job than 99% of the mayors.
Bacon expo was filled with an amazing number of vendors, who knew there was bacon soda syrup, multiple bacon mini cupcakes and, best bite at the expo, Sobrasada, a spreadable chorizo which is as close to
nduja as I've been able to get.
Upstairs 12 chefs outdid themselves, most delicious in an over the top fashion, pastrami cured bacon from the Signature Room, most delicious in a surprisingly restrained fashion, crunchy light spring is here three pea salad with bacon crunch from the Purple Pig. Number of liquor stations, PBR, bacon infused vodka, sangria, Bar DeVille's bacon infused Makers Mark Cocktails and Wobble Stopper from Fifty/50, a bacon centric bloody mary with a salty crunchy corn and black bean rim.
Can't wait for Baconfest 2010, though it may be a month before I find myself wanting bacon again.
Enjoy,
Gary
