Dine with us.
Sous Rising Guestaurant is the newest dining experience in Chicago
visit us at facebook.com/sousrising or sousrising.bolgspot.com

What is a Guestaurant?
According to UrbanDictionary.com: A guestaurant (guest_restaurant) is a kind of restaurant. It’s like a dinner party, where paying guests turn up. Guestaurants are normally run by the chefs at their own homes. Due to its very special nature, attendance is by appointment only. Guests are normally encouraged to bring their own wine. Guestaurants have become the latest trend in dining out in cosmopolitan cities.

Where is the Sous Rising Guestaurant?
Sous Rising dinners are currently being held in the chef’s home, but future dinners will be held at unique locations in and around Chicago. CTA/Driving directions to each event will be emailed to guests the day prior.

Can Sous Rising ‘pop-up’ in my home?
Absolutely! If the space is right, we’d love to pop-up in large artist lofts, studio spaces, roof-tops, yards, etc. Pitch us the space and we’ll let you know if we think it will work!

What is the price per person for a dinner and what does that include?
Dinners range in price from $75 – $100 per person depending on the menu. Dinners are BYOB. Guests are provided still or sparkling water, ice for their beverages, along with a multi-course upscale experience at a communal table. Please bring any wine or beer you would like, we provide all glasses, openers, etc. Often there will be an aperitif course, but that is subject to change based on the other components of the menu. A rough menu will be provided in the same email with directions.

How do I make a reservation?
Reservations are secured via a pre-paid ‘ticket’ system. Reservations can currently be requested on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/sousrising (click the RSVP link) by filling out the form and submitting. We will contact you soon after receiving your request to let you know if your desired date is available given the size of your party. We can accommodate up to 12 guests per evening and spots are first-come-first served. Once we’ve confirmed availability, you will then be able to purchase your ticket via PayPal (payable to sousrising@gmail.com).

Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable to other guests. If you cannot attend your dinner, please provide us the name(s) & email of the new guests so we may contact them with event details.

Can you accommodate vegetarians/vegans/allergies?
Sous Rising dinners are currently executed ‘soup-to-nuts’ by a lone chef. Given this limitation we are not providing accommodations for vegetarians, vegans, or those with wheat gluten, nut or lactose allergies. We don't intend to exclude anyone from a seat at the table, but given our resources and the food variations possible in one evening, the dining experience would be compromised by these accommodations. However, as we grow and add more hands in the kitchen, our intent is to be able to accommodate restrictions and aversions.

What should I expect?
A fun, interactive, gastronomic experience.

What is the dress code?
Casual or Dressy. We want you to feel comfortable and at home. Note, that doesn’t mean you should show up naked (if that’s your idea of ‘at home’)!

How long do the dinners last?
We encourage leisurely dining during the Sous Rising dinner and it can last from 3 to 4 hours.

Is gratuity included in the ticket price?
No. Please feel free to leave your servers a tip, it is greatly appreciated.

Is the menu available in advance?
Our menu is usually being completed up to the day of the dinner as we source directly from our local farmers and hand select the best ingredients available at the moment. Our Facebook page and day-of email will have a rough outline of the menu, so you can get a sneak peak in order to choose your wine for the evening.

What wines are recommended?
We recommend bright, high acid white wines like: Sauvignon Blanc, Vinho Verde, Chenin Blanc, Pino Grigio, and Grunver Veltliner. When buying reds, buy fruity low tannin varieties.

We would love to see you at our table.

Cheers!

Hi there,
Love your coverage of Sous Rising, a client who submits to our online magazine/event listing. Would you be able to contact me?
We would like to have you do a round-up piece of the event for us, if you are interested.
Many thanks!
