    Doing a new Mediterranean project in Greektown called AVIVA (opening March 1) featuring food from France, Italy, Spain, Greece, N. Africa, and the Middle East. I'll be doing a series of tastings on Weds in Feb. Looking for a couple volunteers per tasting to participate and join in post meal discussion. If interested, sign up below and we'll do our best to include you.

    I was lucky enough to attend the first of these tastings. (Full disclosure: my company is creating the website for Aviva). Here are a couple of dishes that we were served.

    Branzino
    saffron, tomatoes, Israeli couscous, marcona almond-herb salad

    Pequillo Rellenos
    braised pork shoulder, idiazabel, toasted almonds over gigante beans in hock stock

    I'm really looking forward to some great stuff coming out of the kitchen at Aviva.
