While the food was great at this 3 star restaurant we will never be invited back.

A 53-year-old Mequon man was arrested for disorderly conduct after being told the Thiensville restaurant at which he was dining ran out of fish for its all-you-can-eat fish fry last week.

According to the police report:

The man had already consumed 12 pieces of fish around 7:40 p.m. Friday when informed the restaurant had run out and could not substitute any other fish.

The man then refused to pay his bill. After the restaurant gave him eight more pieces of fish to go, he paid his bill.

The man returned to the restaurant in the 400 block of North Main Street on Sunday with a picket sign protesting what he said were the restaurant's poor business practices.

I was going to make a joke about an old "The Simpsons" episode, but one of the comments on the link already covered that ground.

Yep - the comments on the main page of FARK.COM have tons of Simpsons references as well.

Unless there's more to it than that, it seems in all seriousness that the man has a case.

The restaurant tells him there's no more fish. Yet, when he raises a ruckus, they magically produce eight more pieces of fish? Seems like they were lying the first time.

I think that he ran them out of the cod, and then they switched to something less "traditional" for a friday fish fry.

Some new information forwarded to me by a Milwaukee friend.

http://www.wisn.com/Angry-Customer-Pickets-Fish-Fry/-/9374034/13392330/-/whecmez/-/index.html

Apparently, the "cheated"diner had been sharing his All You Can Eat meal with a friend. This, of course, is the number one cardinal sin in the AYCE world. Also, according to the manager, at least 20 pieces of fish were consumed before they cut him off. And they still gave him the extra fish to take home, just to shut him up.

Oh yeah, and the guy is a regular at the restaurant who frequently eats "on the cuff" because he can't always pay his bill. Sounds like a real charmer.

Hi,

On Yahoo's trending score sheet, this guy is #8 currently. I saw him on the news at noon. His 15-minutes of fame is here.

Regards,

What is sad is the fact that while I have never eaten there (but I do drive by it quite a bit) I have several friends who enjoy it and say that they have great pizza. None of them rave about the fish fry though.

My conception of him changed once I saw the video.

I didn't see him as a Bill Elliot fan - I was expecting Rusty Wallace. :D

He's an oversized cross between Homer Simpson and a UW lineman. Wonder if he has any NCAA eligibility left? 8)

I'm glad he's picketing...from the looks of it, the exercise will do him good.
