North Kedzie is being repaved over much of the food-centric portion. I am not sure how far south the work goes but definitely several blocks south of Irving. Prep work is as far north as Lawrence as of Friday, May 6. They are grinding the surface and putting down the base layer pretty quickly. The stretch between Cermak Produce and Wilson is a mess but may not be too bad except for protruding man-hole covers and sewer grates by Saturday afternoon. Plan on parking restrictions for some time, though.

I was surprised to see this today. I walk up and down this stretch almost every day and there was no advance warning. My girlfriend talked to some shop owners this morning on Kedzie who also had no advance warning. And, I'm sure, all cars that were ticketed and/or towed had no advance warning. Way to go Chicago!
