    Costco is selling the new publican cookbook for $25 instead of the list price of 40 in case anyone is interested. I haven't read it myself yet ...

    Thanks for the heads up, I am interested to see what people's take is on the cookbook. I often wonder how some of the restaurant based cookbooks out there translate to the home cook. As a former chef at a Michelin star restaurant in Chicago I do have the general experience and most of the tools (seems like you can never have them all!) to tackle most recipes but I still come across ones that are not done justice at home even with the product available we are fortunate to have in our area.

    Regardless.....I still find myself order cookbook after cookbook! :D

    The hardcover version is currently $25.47 at Amazon.com, as well.

    i recently signed up for a free weekly food email called TASTE that i'm finding pretty impressive. many of the articles would be right at home in Saveur magazine... here's an article in TASTE from aimee levitt (who writes for the Reader) about paul kahan and the publication of the publican cookbook.
