Mexican Independence Day is right around the corner! As usual the Pilsen community steps up with their 5th annual self-guided walking restaurant tour. Over 20 restaurants have signed up to participate and the excitement is building. With the many going-ons that weekend the Buen Provecho! Pilsen event stands out as a unique opportunity to visit local area restaurants on a leisurely Sunday! I've described the event as trick-or-treat for adults. It's a lot of fun to experience the neighborhood with a just the right size group of people touring Pilsen. This year the event starts in the early afternoon. so the experience will be different than in year's past. I've been to several restaurant crawls in Chicago and this is by far the most convenient in that the overwhelming number of restaurants are in a 1-mile stretch, with just a few off the beaten path. Definitely worth a try to celebrate the Mexican Holiday!

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 day of the event and can be purchased at www.eighteenthstreet.org

Buen Provecho!

Can't wait to take part of the fifth annual Buen Provecho tasting! I heard new restaurants will participate and I'm very excited for that. I'm getting hungry just thinking about all the food that will be provided. There will be two seafood restaurants participating this year that are very good-Lawrence's and Nayarit. I invite all those who are not doing much on Sunday, September 16th (2-7pm) and participate in this event. So bring your adult bib, walking shoes, and stretchy pants!
