    With the gracious help of the chapulins and nr706, I've been trying to put together a history of the Evanston Lunch Group; If you can find links or dates for the ones I'm missing, please post or PM me and I'll update this post.

    When did Jesse's close? I was just at the hardware store next door and it didn't seem different...

    Thanks for the notes: since the threads exist even if the restos are gon, I'm going to leave the post above as it is, but please post updates about the restaurants here. New Soul Cafe is also gone.

    As of today (11/17/08), Jesse's is definitely still open....

    mea culpa, I was thinking about the Thai place that used to be there! Whoops, I need to start driving down Western a bit more often I think :)

    I don't remember a Tampopo lunch. I think last September (9/17) was at Prairie Grass. Thanks for the great work at keeping up the history.

    You are correct, sir! I had to go back to my 2009 datebook to try to remember where we went last September, and Tampopo was the first thing I spotted. Although a lot of the usual suspects were in attendance at the Tampopo lunch, it was not an OFFICIAL Evanston Lunch Group event (membership cards presented, secret handshake given :P ). Correction noted above. Thanks.
