Love this photo from the 1950s. Restaurant building is still there, still serving food, just not exactly like shown in the photo.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Think you've also answered in some kind of record time -- judges? I certainly want to dress up in coat and tie next time I drive to Wisconsin.

Hint for future GTR submitters: don't link to the original pic online, download and upload and name it something innocuous.
The fact that this one is called "http://www.panix.com/~rbean/oasis/harvey/harvey-inside.jpg" is a dead giveaway.

The fact is that I was a bit disingenuous when I said "wild guess"

I knew for certain that it was a Fred Harvey Restaurant because we would always patronize them on our way up the Northwest Tollway en route to the Dells--- My parents had close friends who owned a resort up there, and we made the trek several times a year for many years. We did this starting in the mid 60's--- The posted photo depicts the restaurant from the 50's, but believe me, the decor was the same 10 years later.

The large windows were the "giveaway" for me--- I didn't have to look up the source code of the photo to know the answer.

My favorite part of the photo is the cigarette butts on the floor next to the natty couple with the red flower on their table in the foreground. Good eye, mister photographer! (I remember eating at these too very well with my parents, and why it was dress-up I have no idea.)

Maybe because you wouldn't think of going out to a restaurant in those days without dressing up--sure was that way for our family in that time frame

I grew up during that time and that's the way you dressed when you left your house!
