You're welcome. That website used to offer free shipping for orders over $99, which made ordering from there a no-brainer. Now, they charge for shipping and I'm not familiar enough with what they charge to know if it's still a good value.

Try Famous Liquors in Lombard. Bought a bottle of 7 yr FDC about a month ago. Great stuff.
It's become one of my favorites.

I would call first:

The 7 year is not that hard to find; they have it at Foremost, at least. The 4 is my go-to mixing white. I also have the 18, but haven't opened it yet.

That's good to know. I love the 4 too and often mix it 50/50 with Lemonhart as the rum component in daiquiris. It's been about a year since I had any of my 18-year but I remember liking it quite a bit at a rum tasting we had last summer.

About 2-3 years ago I began sampling rums other than the usual Bacardi.
An interesting one was Plantation 1996 Trinidad. It was distinctive and made an excellent Cuba Libre and Mojito. I got used to the flavor but alas. no more to be found so I ordered a case of Plantation 2000 Trinidad. Binney's did have Plantation 2000 Guyana but I stayed with the Trinidad for hopefully similar taste.
The Planation rums are distributed by Ferrand, a wel known Cognac producer and there is verbage about the 'Plantation Collection'on the website but I don't know what's real and what's hype other than Ferrand just wanted a share of the market for high end rum.
But it is good rum.-Dick

Ursiform , couldn't agree more on the FDC 7 year. I've been travelling a lot to Nica land the last few years and the only place place in Chicago I've found to scratch my FDC 7 itch with any regularity is

DiCarlo's Armanetti Liquors
515 N Western Av
312 226 4600

Now , if I could only find those little puros !

While not as cheap as in Nica (under $10.00 a bottle) I have seen it at Hyvee in Sycamore and Woodman's in Carpentersville.
