    Hi all!

My hubs is super into craft beer and home brewing. I'm trying to think of awesome, local brew experiences for him for a Christmas gift and I'm coming up short. He has a bunch of home brew equipment on his wishlist, but I wanted to do something more fun/hands on for him. I don't want to do the typical brewery tours.

    Any brilliant ideas?

My homebrew club is having an event this weekend, not a hands-on brewing experience but a chance to participate in a homebrew contest. $25 entry fee, you sample 20+ beers and vote for a winner. There's also an official BJCP judging, the results of which are announced during the event, so you can compare your own conclusions against the pros. It's a bit early for Christmas but sounds like something he might enjoy.

Dammit. That looks fun. But we're up in Portage Park, so driving down to 18th St on 6 Wednesday evenings would kind of blow. If they had done it on a weekend this totally would be up his alley!
