    Hi,

Are there any fruits/veggies/berries that are good for picking now?

I searched the forum and it looks like cherry and strawberry season is over? I am guessing apple picking doesn't start till September. So what's available for picking in July and August? And what are good places to go to do that?

    Thank you!

There were still a lot of sour cherries at the farmers market yesteday; we picked a few jars. Pickling cucumbers should be coming soon, I was told.

There were also a lot of carrots.

U-pick blueberry farms were just opening up when I was in Michigan last weekend. Well worth the effort, and no stooping over like with strawberries!

Darren72, thank you for the tip on pickling cucumbers!

Kristen, thank you for heads up about blueberry season. I remember picking them in NJ years ago.

Any thoughts on where to pick them in IL or WI? I'd love to go blueberry picking, but don't want to drive longer than 1-2 hours.
