I hope this doesn't come too soon after tonight's happy hour @ Natalino's, but recent discussion in the Violet Hour thread has made me very eager to make the trip to Wicker Park and try out VH's spring menu. I haven't been there since it was very, very cold outside.

Anybody care to join me? All are welcome--VH enthusiasts as well as any folks who might want to visit for the first time.

Sharon

I've reached a milestone: This is the first time I'll be attending two LTH events in the same week. I'll be there, with bells on, to order from their fantastic drink menu.

Want.

I will be there, though on the late side - probably more like 6:30. Please save me a highback.

It's no Rumanian skirt steak, but it fits better in my schedule. Put me down.

Add me to the list. In addition to their drinks, do they have food menu?

They do. I recommend the duck meatballs. I've always enjoyed the fried pickles also.

I would like to join you. I'll be leaving Evanston at about 6:00, so I will be late: hopefully Happy Hour will last over an hour.

A fantastic potential crowd. I look forward to skoaling all of you. Can we fit in a figure eight of highbacks around two of the little tables, or take over the southeast corner by the curtains? I think this might be more fun in a lounge setup than at one of the long tables in the dining room, which are less mingling-friendly.

I completely agree. I've only ever sat in the highbacks. I will be there close to 6 to find us space. I'm glad so many people can come out!

I am hopeful that I will be able to attend. I'm not sure when I will be able to get off of work; it's not unheard of to be able to get out by 6:30 on a Monday.

So call me an iffy 1; I may bring a co-worker along as well.

Can I be vaguer?

I have been following the thread on this place with much interest, so I'm going to try and make it. I have to see if my schedule will allow. Put me down as a maybe.

OK, here's a list of people, only so I have a rough idea of how much seating to look for. This isn't to lock anyone in--all are still welcome to post here or just show up on Monday.

I desperately hope my client cancels an afternoon meeting so I can get out of this God-foresaken town (Atlanta) early tomorrow and join you guys for Happy Hour. Apologies to fans of this "city".

Like kennyz - I desperately hope my late afternoon meeting ends early enough for me to make the trek into the city. I have my fingers and toes crossed.

I think that I will be closer to 7ish - so we can be a second shift.

OK, so here's a question: I can really only have one drink and reasonably expect to find my way home (walking!). But, I'm torn. Help my decision-making - Negroni or Dark 'n' Stormy?

Can we drink "family style"? Order a lot of different drinks and share (either separate glasses or not)? Turn the Violet hour into a Chinese restaurant.

Brilliant! I'm in. I have the one drink problem, too.

We're definitely up for sharing...that's part of the benefit of going with the group.

Alas, I will not be getting to O'hare until 7:45, so I'll have to make my own Dark n Stormy tonight.

I am so glad I don't have to make difficult drink choices this evening - thanks all for being willing to share your drinks!
