Maybe he'd be tempted by this sausage-free pizza. Yes, that is macaroni on it. This place seems right up his alley!

Don't tell me this is CiCi's pizza. :-o

Yep. All you can eat, $4.99. For most of us here, that wouldn't be much. But I've an idea Pizza Boy would love it.

LMAO! No question about it. He was hopped up on gyros pizza and sausage pizza (from his #1 place) to the most severe degree imaginable. :D

The check is not ready because I'm still considering paying him in Dominos gift cards! :D

No package yet . . . 8)

Update:

We were both at Prairie Grass Cafe last night but I left before he arrived. Still, he generously sent this picture of the custom-made pizza he enjoyed there for dinner last night . . .

This morning, he enjoyed the leftover pizza from Aurelio's and sent me the pic in an e-mail with the subject line "Breakfast of Champions."

Ron, I know Prarie Grass is well-loved and has a great reputation, but the "pizzas" Pizzaboy has eaten from that spot are easily the worst-looking pies in this thread. Yes, I'm taking Tombstone, Dominoes, and Pizza from the Orange Counties (FL and CA was it?) into consideration. Do they use a microwave or one of those Chipotle tortilla steamers to melt the cheez?

I think looks can be deceiving. They're actually quite tasty. The dough, while thin, is flavorful and made in-house, and the toppings are premium. Even the sausage is made in-house. They're not very substantial, though -- they do appear on the 'appetizer' section of the menu. I don't think they have a pizza oven, which might explain the way the cheese melts -- and it's definitely high-quality cheese. For example, the feta on the pizza shown above is imported Greek feta and it's excellent.

Good facts to know. And I'll point out the obvious: Ron's too smart and reasonable even to suggest the Prarie Grass pies look good. Doubtless PGC has a salamander or a blow torch, which they might consider using to finish . . .

PS, before someone has a kinipshin, I'm being hyperbolic in my comparisons. Of course the PGC pies taste better than Domino's. I admire the from-scratch work too. They aren't particularly photogenic, though.

Oooh gift cards. That would be positively terrible of you, but I admit, I might giggle. Don't suppose Pizza Boy would mind!

You're in the home-stretch now, Pizza Boy!! You can do it!

Ronnie, I've got a real obscure one for him (and you). Nite 'N Gale in Highwood. They have a cracker thin pizza on the menu that sometimes is very good, and sometimes is excellent. I always forget it when thinking of pizzas in the area because who thinks of pizza at a place like Nite 'N Gale?! It can be really, really great. If you guys haven't tried it, go for it. Besides, how many places serve pizza in a classy, old school place like this?! Let him have one of his final dinners there to celebrate his victory!

My old roommate grew up in Chicago Heights, worked at the Aurelio's flagship store in Homewood and that's always been a favorite of his and his friends/family. I grew up in Skokie/Highland Park with Barnaby's of Northbrook (only this location!) probably being my favorite growing up for thin pizza as well as my friends and family. Aurelio's is very unique as well and I like that about it. But you have to like a really sweet sauce (kind of like D'Agostino's).

Nite 'N Gale
346 Sheridan Rd
Highwood IL 60040
847-432-9744
Open at 5pm (I guess they don't serve a 'luncheon' anymore per the old sign)

I like the pizza at the Nite 'N Gale too. It was one of my mom and dad's favorite places. And Ronnie, you can order a nice big plate of oysters on the half shell to enjoy while you're watching him eat his pizza.

Is melted goat cheese ever photogenic?

Given a choice between good-looking pizza from CiCi's and ugly pizza from Prairie Grass, I know which I'd choose!

2 thoughts for ronnie:

1. You need to pay this guy in nickles.
2. The way Pizzaboy eats, you may have lost the bet but honestly you're still the winner here.

I am sure Ronnie will pay him in Benjamins--when someone takes your money in a proposition wager the only way to act is graciously.

1) I don't think I could carry that many nickles.

2) That sounds like a textbook consolation prize. :D

Ugh . . . reality setting in. Probably a check, if he doesn't stumble between now and when it's over tomorrow.

For yesterday's lunch, he finished off the remaining pizzas from Aurelio's and Little Red Hen, so not too much excitement there.

For dinner last night (and breakfast this morning) he went again with H  memade Pizza Company . . .

Image
Not cooked, not delivered but other than that, a remarkably convenient value

Image
Jalapeno and Caramelized Onion on the whole pizza, sausage on one half, chorizo on the other half -- side order of big toe :D

Since today is the last weekday lunch of the bet period, I think he's planning something but I'm not sure what.

I guess I was wrong Ronnie, seems like your guy is gonna win a bet I thought was going to be a sure win for you.

Thanks for this entertaining, and quite often stomach turning thread. It was a fun one to follow.

He'll be tailgating at the Bears game on Sunday morning, so probably a wide variety of applicable delicacies. :D

You know, there's a very good chance that Pizza Boy may get a case of the Montezuma's Revenge once he goes back to "regular" food.

Oh this will be a fun day...and meal. I would love to see pictures of the celebration feast...and odds are the Bears can handle the Browns. It'll be a nice day for Pizza Boy indeed...plus with enough cash in his pocket for a few more years worth of sausage pizza, what more could a guy ask for? :D

Because I feel this bet's already been lost -- and because I personally like good pizza -- I and one of my partners made the trek down to Morton Grove today for some carry-out pizzas . . .

How did Pizza Boy like Burt's compared to the other pizzas he's had all month?
