I have an hour drive home from work. I don't know what to do. I'm sure whatever decision I make, stick it out here at work or try to make it home before the tickets go on sale, will be the wrong one.

Same here. With my luck, tickets will go on sale 5 minutes after whatever time I decide to head home.

I have plans to meet my wife at the Map Room. I guess it could be worse; at least the Map Room has wifi. and beer.

ha, probably everyone in there will be doing the same thing though

For now, sticking at work with my 6-pack and hoping something happens soon

My enthusiasm for the event has waned though since they posted a "no kegs" request in their FAQ.

I'd planned on bringing a small keg of homebrew for trading samples with people (and for my own amusement). Now, I don't know. :?

Bringing a corny of homebrew or something even smaller probably isn't what they're trying to eliminate with the "no kegs" request. If you tell them it's homebrew when they come over and complain about it (if they even bother), I'm guessing the "punishment" will be that you give them samples. Staff/security at DLD is often some familiar faces from various beer bars...

I'm wondering if Map Room will be as bad as everywhere else tonight given it's March 17. Chicago Beer Society moved their monthly Third Wednesday Map Room night to last week instead to avoid it.

$10 each & 2/person, just like last year. $4 for shipping.

After I confirmed my purchase, I got a 'technical issues' message -- I hit 'try again' a few times and it went through.

I didn't get my two, but it wasn't the ticketing company's servers that got me...my wife walked in the door, saw me furiously F5ing and wanted to know what the hell I was doing, I explained, and she reminded me that we'll be out of town that week. Foiled again, maybe I'll finally make it in 2011 :(

I also persevered last night and managed to score golden tickets for DLD 2010. It wasn't easy but it all worked out in the end.

This will be my third year in a row, really looking forward to it and hopefully meeting some of you all there.

Well if you got literally hours of messages I am sorry to tell you that wasted a bunch of time, the tickets sold out in 55 minutes. So by 7:55 or so CST they were gone. But the very large majority of people had the same problem, everyone just kept refreshing the page until they got through. Looking back at my confirmation e-mail I think my wife got two of the last tickets, it is timestamped at 7:56.

Go anyway and have fun. You will still likely have a chance to buy some at the end of the day; you just won't have the guarantee. Last year they had alot left over after all of the ticket holders got theirs, but I think there have have been confusion, people thinking you could ONLY get DL if you had a ticket. This year people may be better educated and know you will still have the opportunity to buy without the ticket, more than likely after 5pm.

Yeah, but the colors/fonts make difficult to read.
