Just bought my tix for both sessions. This should be a lot of fun -- just as the fall 'preview' event was.

I just bought session 2 for MincyBits and myself.

BaconFest's Twitter says they're almost sold out already.

You snooze, you lose. I just logged in to buy my tickets and both sessions were sold out.

$45 is too rich for my friends' blood for bacon. probably me too. good thing they sold out fast.

i thought it was going to be an outdoor festival with kiosks, kind of like a taste of chicago feel.

There's an amateur cook-off sponsored by Nueske's. The 5 winners will get in free.

I just got back from Baconfest. As soon as I walked in the door, the Chow Poodle said, "You smell like bacon!". I think that says it all. Congratulations to the Baconfest Boys. Nice job. I can hardly wait until Baconfest 2011. I'll post some pictures later.

Congratulations to the Baconfest Boys. Nice job.

Terrific event, fun, tasty, delicious and one of the most well run events I've been. Seth, Mike and Andre should be running a major American city, they'd do a better job than 99% of the mayors.

Bacon expo was filled with an amazing number of vendors, who knew there was bacon soda syrup, multiple bacon mini cupcakes and, best bite at the expo, Sobrasada, a spreadable chorizo which is as close to nduja as I've been able to get.

Upstairs 12 chefs outdid themselves, most delicious in an over the top fashion, pastrami cured bacon from the Signature Room, most delicious in a surprisingly restrained fashion, crunchy light spring is here three pea salad with bacon crunch from the Purple Pig. Number of liquor stations, PBR, bacon infused vodka, sangria, Bar DeVille's bacon infused Makers Mark Cocktails and Wobble Stopper from Fifty/50, a bacon centric bloody mary with a salty crunchy corn and black bean rim.

Can't wait for Baconfest 2010, though it may be a month before I find myself wanting bacon again.

Enjoy,
Gary

What a day!! First, how often does a person have to decide between hitting a hot new gourmet sausage/dog spot followed by a whole pig roast and BACONFEST!!! Right off the bat, those were some pretty special circumstances. And a GORGEOUS spring day to boot!

So Baconfest...yes it was worth giving up the Toon's piggy extravaganza...highlights for me were Cafe Matou's brochette of mussels, bacon and spring onions, Otom's vacuum oven pad thai bacon and my two faves--Longman and Eagle's decadent bacon waffle with brown sugar bacon ice cream and candied dehydrated bacon topping and the ridiculously gorgeous slab of Duroc bacon topped with roasted cashew, green chili, mustard greens and pickled bacon from Veerasway. All of the samplings were delish (there wasn't anything that I didn't want to finish) but these four were the prize winners in my book.

I also agree that the array of beverages and vendors was impressive. I was particularly fond of the bloody mary with the interesting dust on the lip of the glass--one of the best bloody's I've had in a long time and the huge slice of bacon at the bottom which somehow stayed fairly crispy) was certainly one of the reasons. I loved the little cupcakes, Vosges' new dark chocolate version of their bacon bar, the Dreymiller and Nueske's samples and the bacon caramel corn. The only item that I was moved to purchase on the spot though was the lovely back bacon from the English transplant, Spencer's. Can't wait to start making bacon and egg sandwiches with that!!

Caught a bit of Mike G's demo which was fun-next year they should do more of those--it was a good way to break from eating

Thanks to my ticket angel and to the baconmeisters who conceived of and staged this terrific event!!! I definitely look forward to next year

Seth,

Does a list of the actual dishes served by the chefs exist anywhere? Once I turned in my ballot, I was dismayed to find that only chef bios were listed in the program book.

I figured as much--I was first shift  Was still a lot of fun though! Would've been that much more so if I'd been able to compare notes with a few others.

Actually, going to re-route this question where it belongs :P

So did you get to sample everything? And if so, what were your top tastes?
