Anyone care to start a pool for how long it'll be until the C&D from Lucasfilm?

I wondered about that place. I have never been but I just happened to drive past that place on Saturday afternoon and wondered why it would be closed in the middle of the day.

Confirmed to still be open. Hours start at 4 p.m. most days, probably since there's no big lunch business to be had in that neighborhood.

Eater Chicago says the always-controversial Bleeding Heart Bakery is moving eastward on Belmont, to the former Paper Boy location (across from Uncle Fun) at 1351 W. Belmont.

Now that Manzo's is leaving, that corner of Kedzie and Irving is going to be even more of an eye sore than it already is ... that liquor store has been abandoned for how long now?

Looks like you will not have to worry about the eyesore. Drove past on my way to my parents on Saturday and noticed what I had not seen on my way to work earlier in the week: a temporary fence surrounding that entire stretch including Manzo's. Looks like it may end up all being torn down.

For years I always said I was going to dine at Manzo's and snap some photos of the old school interior. I never got around to it. Now when I get a brand new and much better camera they move away and the structure is about to be knocked down. Just great.

Noted that the former J.P. McCarthy's in Winnetka now displays a sign saying that it is now the 'Trifecta Grill.' Further investigation shows that the site will be the 3rd current Winnetka restaurant owned and run by Patrick O'Neil (the other two being O'Neil's in the Hubbard Woods area, and Little Ricky's, on the east side of downtown). No opening date or menu available yet, but here's a bit more info.

Trifecta Grill
401 Chestnut St.
Winnetka

Looks like San Chae Dol Sot restaurant (3737 W Lawrence) is closed. Dark inside for the past week and now a For Rent sign in the window. Since Kang Nam doesn't seem to ever have had its "Grand Reopening" It's getting harder and harder to find bibimbap in what used to be called Koreatown.

Ivy, a hot dog/burger/fry joint, will be opening at 5425 W. Devon "soon". That's just steps away from the Edgebrook metra; I hope they get a lot of business on this side of the forest preserve, what with Superdawg on the other side.

If they have natural casing dogs and decent fries, they will. That's right in my neighborhood, and right now the closest acceptable dog is in Skokie.

Diora, the Uzbeki place in Buffalo Grove, seems to have closed. I tried to use my Groupon for the place last night and their phone number has been disconnected and the place was dark when I went by.

Oh, no. It was SO good. Can't imagine why it would close.
