Please feel free to move this post if not in the proper location but FYI, if using the discount code "travelzoo" today only on restaurant.com, you can purchase a $25 gift cert for only $4. They are normally $10 if even offered and are not generally too restrictive to be presented.

I searched zip 60613 within 5 miles and was able to pick up certs for Turquoise Cafe, Dorado, I Monelli, Sola and Deleece, all places I go to regardless of being discounted. Discount code can also be used on other monetary values if offered.

Good luck if searching and saving...

Thanks, Patty, for letting us know about your Halloween special. Some folks here might not be aware that The Spice House is your store. :)

Hi- There is a $25 for $10 coupon on restaurant.com right now for Quince. You have to buy two entrees, and a 20% gratuity is added to the bill before the coupon is deducted. I know that there are quite a few Quince fans on this board.

4.5 quart KitchenAid tilt-head mixers are marked down this weekend from $349.99 to $229.99 at Macys.com, then reduced to $209.99 with code XJW562A992, plus there's a $30 rebate on top of that. Shipping is free. So it comes to $190 plus tax, which is a pretty good price for a new KitchenAid.

I have one of these mixers and it's a real workhorse; mine is at least 20 years old. However, if you make bread in quantity it may not be quite big enough. I find that when mixing one of my favorite bread recipes (Delicious Oatmeal Bread from the The New York Times Natural Foods Cookbook), that the dough tends to climb the spindle. However, for most baking purposes, it should be fine.

Actually, it looks like they have larger mixers marked down and with a rebate as well.

Hi- They have a deal at Jewel on one of the Keurig coffee makers. It is $99, and you get $70 worth of free coupons, and there is a $30 rebate for it, but not all the Jewel stores carry the rebate form. They keep the coupon booklets behind customer service, and so when you purchase the coffeemaker you have to ask for one of them.

One place that is good for finding bargains on both food and stuff online, is http://www.mashupmom.com/. Rachel lives in the Western suburbs, and so all of her food posts relate to stores in the Chicago area. Her site is how I found out about the $5 subscription to organic gardening, which is over now. She has lots of cheap magazine offers she posts. Hope this helps, Nancy
