LTH,

Please join us to honor this year's GNR Award recipients (they'll be announced next week; likely on April 11) and celebrate at a special dinner at 6:00 pm on Monday April 23 at Manny's:

Image

<><><><><>
Planned Menu and Schedule:
Meet & Greet from 6:00-7:00 pm
Cash Bar
Appetizers:
Shrimp
Fried Kreplach
Baked Salami
Veggie Tray
(appetizers are included in the price of the dinner)

Dinner and Awards Presentation beginning at 7:00 pm
All-you-can-eat from Manny's famed cafeteria line
Dinner will be served from 7:00 pm until 8:00; Dessert served until 8:45. Items on the line will include pastrami, corned beef, latkes, soups, stews, assorted entrees, salads, desserts and more, all in typical Manny's grandeur.
<><><><><>

If you'd like to attend the dinner, please post here with the number of people in your party. You need not worry about procuring tickets for your nominee, as we will contact all the awardees directly, after the results are announced (and if you'd like to let them know the news, that'd be great). After you post here, we'll send you a PM containing detailed sign-up information and instructions on how to purchase your tickets. These PMs will be sent out in the order in which those requesting tickets have posted on this thread. Your reservations will be confirmed once you pay for your tickets at EventBrite.com, using the link that will be sent to you via PM. Once your tickets are purchased, we will add your name(s) to the 'official' list of attendees, which will be maintained on this thread. Ticket sales will close promptly at 11 am CT on Friday April 20 so that we can give our hosts at Manny's a firm head count with adequate lead time.

Awardees and their nominators will have the right of first refusal on spaces but we have very good capacity for this event and should be able to accomodate all requests. Still, tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you are interested in attending, please follow these instructions:

The cost is $50 per person (plus a small service fee charged by EventBrite.com). This price includes Meet & Greet Hour appetizers, the All-You-Can-Eat meal, tax and gratuity. Beverages are not included in this price, however the Cash Bar will be open during the entire event and $5.00 (paid at the event) buys you unlimited pop throughout the entire event. Each attendee will also receive the official 2012 GNR Poster (faithfully compiled by stevez).

Whether you have nominated a restaurant/resource or not, if you want to attend the dinner, please post here indicating so, just so we have a better idea of what kind of attendance to expect. Again, we expect to be able to honor all ticket requests but just in case we hit capacity, once awardees and successful nominators are taken care of, the remaining ticket requests will be fulfilled in the order in which they are made on this thread. To recap, everyone queues up here, successful nominators will have their orders filled first, everyone else gets their orders filled in the order in which they've posted here. Awardees will be contacted directly by the GNR Committee.

If you have any questions, please post them here or send me a PM.

We hope you'll join us to celebrate LTHForum.com's newest GNRs. :)

Thanks!

I'd love to go, but I'll be in Dublin, to see if the food there is as good as at Chief O'Neill's.

I'll be there. If Mr. X confirms with me later this week, I'll revise my RSVP.

I'm so sad to miss this - last year was so enjoyable! And my guests still rave about it.

I'll instead be in a city on the East Coast eating at a chain seafood resto at the request of a client ... argh.

Put me down for one. That may change to a higher number at a later date.

We'll miss you. It should be a great time.

Yes, it's a bit pricier than last year's dinner but for fans of Manny's -- especially indecisive ones -- it's a perfect opportunity to try everything being served. Can't decide between a corned beef sandwich, pot roast or macaroni & cheese? Have all 3! :D

This would have been a good chance to make my first trip to the non-airport version of Manny's, but alas I have a meeting that night.

I really can't wait for the awards dinner. The idea of free reign over Manny's steam table has me all atwitter with excitement. It's great to see some of the winners starting to sign up, too. I know it's going to be a great evening. Having done this several times now, it's worth the price of admission just to see the look of happiness on the winners' faces when they see the high esteem that LTH Forum holds for their place. This is especially true of those small Mom & Pop joints that started out thinking we're trying to sell them something and end up feeling the LTH love at the dinner. I hope we get some more LTHers to sign up for the dinner to join in the celebration.

I nominated Owen & Engine, but unfortunately I have a business event on the 23rd that can't be missed/rescheduled, so I'll have to miss the awards dinner. :(
