It looks like they reopened this week, half a block away. At 9 pm tonight, the restaurant was full.New Asia Restaurant (2739 W Lawrence) has paper covering the door with the words "We closed, TY" printed on it in marker. So I guess they're hsitory.

Driving past today there were three for lease signs in the windows. Their website indicates that they have closed and to see their Facebook page for updates. The Facebook page indicates closed permanently and has an item dated December 31, 2013, including these lines: "It's with heavy hearts that we must say good-bye to all of you, our loyal customers who have supported us for the past 7 years! Tough economic times took their toll on our beloved Bellezza Gelato Caffe and we had no choice but to close our doors."

riddlemay wrote:We carried out from Goddess & Grocer on Friday night, and even though I knew they'd be closing soon, I was impressed that there was no real sign of this. The customary variety of fresh foodstuffs was for sale, all in abundance behind the glass and in the refrigerator case. No feeling of "hunkering down" or "winding down" or "limping along" before the closure. So they went out with style.

Come to Highland Park. We have two Gelato stores, and you can drive down and eat it at the beach, or just park by the lake.

What are the two? I can only think of Frost on Central Ave.

After working alongside Stephanie Izard and helping her run Girl & The Goat and Little Goat along with the chef's day-to-day activities outside the restaurants, Jennifer Eisen is leaving at the end of this week to focus on her own restaurant: House 406 opening in north suburban Northbrook.

Yes, that's something we're definitely missing (Prairie Grass, Inovasi... and let's not get into the "What is the North Shore?" trap again.)

UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — With an onsite barbecue, a weekend oyster bar and craft beers brewed in-house, the owners of Moxee have big plans for a new restaurant and microbrewery opening at 724 W. Maxwell St. in late November.
