MOD Pizza (basically another fast pizza place like Blaze) is opening in July in front of Deerbrook Mall in Deerfield. Other locations have been in the Chicago area since around 2009. Address not available, but it's on the corner of Lake-Cook and Waukegan in the same building as Subway.

From the map on their site:
    MOD Pizza -Deerbrook Mall
    OPENS JULY
    70 S Waukegan Rd
    Deerfield, IL 60015

Between this and Portillo's, we may see the Deerbrook Mall back to its former glory one day.

The one location that's already opened in Naperville has really good ratings on Yelp, for what it's worth. I may check it out.

One of my favorite bars, The Long Room, is now serving food and has a back patio to boot. It seems to be a "food truck" concept.

The Long Room offers service from early morning until late night, delivering a thoughtfully curated full scale coffee program, a playful ever-changing beer list, and a well rounded collection of spirits and classic cocktails. The beverage program is complemented by the Long Room’s in house partner, Sidecar at LR. Sidecar, a chef driven concession window located adjacent to the bar, offers freshly prepared indoor food truck style service provided by two distinct rotating chef groups.

Dear lord. How many pointless buzzwords/phrases can they fit in one paragraph? This is Onion-esque.

A bit odd, especially considering I always liked the Long Room for its more laid back sensibilities. Still, I look forward to giving it a try.

Middle Eastern Flair on Harlem is closed. I loved their falafel and breads. I hadn't gone in for a week or two because of Ramadan but I stopped by today and the place is empty, bare to the walls.

The sign on the door promises info on a new location "soon".

Great falafel and the best chicken I've ever had . . . I found out the hard way too, but I can't wait for their reopening.

    A new Middle-Eastern option
for those in The Tri-Taylor, UIC-Medical District,
Juvenile Court area just opened on Taylor Street (just east of) Western.

Baba Pita- which had been located for 10 years @ 1032 W. Lake in The Meat-Packing District
became a victim of Gentrification (Thank-You-Google ) is now serving
    Middle Eastern Cuisine.
Zyad's (the owner) a native of Damascus, Syria-
and claims his "Grilled"style of Schwarma is "healthier"
than what's found all along Kedzie and Lawrence-meaning a rotating spit, which I prefer-
for the crispy bits- as well as the "broiled" flavor.
Equally-I've NEVER found an Al Pastor not made on a spit-
that I found to my taste- to be "authentic".

Very close to my office, and the consensus is that it's the best lunch spot in walking distance. I especially enjoy the Korean steak tacos and the shrimp tempura tacos.

Zapatista (I see posts for closings of other locations, they're all closed now. Not surprised...)
