Agreed. Having just moved to West Rogers park, it's great to see so many spots in everyone's rotation nearby

My wife (Dr. Cutie) and I live on the near west side, and we tend to stay pretty close to our neighborhood. Here are our go-to places for dinner:

    Francesca's (on Taylor St.)
Davanti Enoteca (also on Taylor St.)
    G & O (Grand & Ogden)
Saigon Sisters (Lake St, near Jefferson)
    Mexique (Chicago, Ashland)
Butterfly Sushi (on Madison near Racine. Carry out mostly)
    Eden (Lake St. near Damen)
El Ideas (14th St. near Western - but once or twice a year)

For lunch, since I work in the Deerfield area (Wheeling, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire, Northbrook, Vernon Hills, etc...)

    McAllister's Deli (Lake Cook Rd.)
    Cooker's (Lake Cook Rd.)
MOD Pizza (Lake Cook Rd. & Waukegan Rd.)
Smokey T's (Long Grove, although a bit of a haul)
    Real Urban BBQ (Vernon Hills)
    Twin Peaks (Wheeling)
    Red Robin (Lincolnshire)
    Portillo's (Lake Cook Rd.)
Starfish Sushi (Lincolnshire - highest recommendation!)

This really is one of the best/funnest threads! Im going to geek out here for a sec:

Im reminded of my Beer App, untappd. Anyone else on untappd?

You basically log in when you are drinking a particular beer, where you are drinking it and what you thought of it on a five point scale. You have "friends" and you can toast them, send them little messages and see their beer checkins. You can also see anyone else in the worlds checkins too, but you cant see their profiles or send them toasts or messages until you are "friends on untappd".

You get all sorts of cool analytics, for example, aside from my home, I drink the most at Bangers and Lace followed by Sketchbook and Half Acre. Peeling the onion further, Im like the #2 untappd user by check-ins at both Bangers and Sketchbook. One of my buddies is among the top ten checker-inners at Half Acre Tap Room! Dubious distinction? Perhaps...

You can see a list of all the beers you have ever tried and you can sort them by your ratings, where you had them, when, etc. And of course, untappd has partnered with google maps, uber and others to make it easy to get to the place you want to drink at next. Bars offer special deals to untappd users, etc etc.

If LTH had a restaurant check-in app, these types of analytics could be fun to see; this thread of "regular places" is kind of a proto-list as would appear on a LTH restaurant app after a few months of data gathering. Next Gen LTH!!!

As much as I like going to the LTH favorites, the place I go the most often is Horizon Cafe on Broadway.

    1. It's right next to me
    2. Their matzo ball soup (chicken & dumpling on the menu) on Fridays is delicious.

Most of my eat out experience is downtown for lunch:
Blackwood, Aloha, Saigon Sisters, Naansense, Taza, 65, Polpetti (meatball vault), Jubilee Juice, Cafecito, LaCocina, Siam Rice, Venice Cafe, Sushi Sai, Benjyahuda, Xoco.....the rotation changes on a weekly basis, but we find these places to be consistently decent grub - sometimes even crave worthy.

My biggest surprise in all of these is the amount of love for Naf-Naf? I've been to 3 of them around the city/burbs (mostly the downtown Washington St) probably a dozen times since they spread out, and almost always come away with a total meh opinion (ok, the pita rocks). But then, I hate Chipotle.....
