Ok, I grew up in Elmhurst and lived most of my adult life in different NW suburbs, the Washington DC area and am now living in Lake County.

I just started checking out this forum (which is great) and saw a few references to Maxwell Street.

I did some Goggle-ing on it and found a few websites, but nothing too comprehensive.

I'd love to hear some personal accounts on what it's like, where to eat, the best time to go, etc.

    Thanks in advance.

    Answer #1: The Food.

    Answer #2: The Movie.

    Answer #3: The Book.

Incidentally, this time of year is a great time for a first-timer to go-- less crowded, less heat reflected off black pavement sucking the life out of you. So read up, and if Sunday is at all decent out, check it out.
