The first 100 customers who line up on June 18 at 7 a.m. at the new store, 5225 S. Harper Ct., will receive a free boxed doughnut and a t-shirt. One lucky box will contain the golden doughnut, which will grant the receiver free doughnuts and coffee for life.
Stan’s new shop stretches over 2,000 square feet and includes a patio for outdoor seating. The company currently operates 14 locations in the city.

The owners of the Robey hotel have teamed up with chef Guillermo Reyes for Chikatana, a modern Mexican restaurant in Fulton Market. Chikatana, 850 W. Fulton Market St., opened last week with contemporary Mexican food, including king crab chile relleno and pato en mole.

That Wahlburgers location didn’t last long. It only opened a little over two years ago. I’m sure that the pandemic didn’t help it.

Michelin-starred chef José Andrés is opening his first speakeasy this summer in River North, as part of the renowned chef’s first foray into Chicago. The yet-to-be-named, underground bar is one of five establishments Andrés and his company, ThinkFoodGroup, are opening in Chicago this year. The first, Café By The River, opened earlier this month on the river level of the new Bank of America Tower, which is going up at 110 N. Upper Wacker Drive.
Contemporary American restaurant Eden, which shuttered its West Town location last summer as a result of the pandemic, is set to reopen this fall in a new riverfront spot in Avondale.
