DeNucci's Italian which I've written about, coming sometime this spring, applied for a liquor license. They finally have a website too. Opening at Lincoln, Dickens, and Cleveland.

DeNuccis combines the best Italian-American cuisine with the modern and approachable concept Ballyhoo is best known for. From classic dishes like Artichoke Vesuvio, Mozzarella al Forno, and Veal Marsala to nightly specials like Chicken Scarpariello and Lasagna Bolognese, DeNuccis pairs incredible cuisine with an all-Italian wine list. With approachable bottles and undiscovered gems, each glass contributes to an unforgettable feel-good dining experience. Ballyhoo’s Pizzaiolo Salvatore "Sal" Lo Cascio brings his beloved pizzas to DeNuccis, to round out the menu.

The interior combines fresh design, an inviting ambiance, old-school Italian charm, refinished modern appeal, and restored elements of the historic Four Farthings Tavern and Grill.

Glad to hear it's open, it'll be on my short list to go to. I last passed it a month ago, it looked far from ready to open.

A Chicago restaurateur has signed a lease to take over the former Magnificent Mile restaurant space of Bandera, making a bet on the continued return of crowds to the city’s top shopping avenue.

George Archos plans to open a restaurant and cocktail bar in the more than 7,000-square-foot space at 535 N. Michigan Ave. in June, he told CoStar News.

The Evie Grill, which will serve items such as sushi, steaks, burgers and seasonal fish, is named for Archos’ 14-year-old daughter.

Can’t speak to the viability of the place but there is definitely such a thing as seasonal fish harvests.

Copper River salmon, as one example, has a season. Nearly all crab species are seasonal (seasons differ by species and location). Bluefin tuna has a season. We're so used to getting anything anytime due to modern freezing methods, but there are definitely fish that have peak seasons.

Mensch's Jewish deli opening initially as a Saturday-only pop-up at Picnic (1619 Chicago Ave) before moving to a nearby TBD downtown Evanston permanent location later in the year. From the owner of Pono Ono poke and Picnic (I've seen vanity plates for what has to be him driving along Green Bay Rd a few times). Place sounds like a good idea.

The article doesn't specify, and the comment section was less than enlightened. Are these 20% service charges computed on the pre-tax total, then not subject to sales tax, like the standard 20% tip would be? I'm fully expecting the service charge to be subject to sales tax, and less efficient as a result.

Block Club reports that Il Milanese opened last week in the former Parkside space at the corner of Montrose and Leavitt. This space has had coming soon signs for some time.

Three Friends Are Bringing Northern Italian Cuisine To The Former Parkside In North Center

The three longtime chefs and friends planned their menu to highlight Italian fare from Piemonte, Lombardia and Veneto.

One of the owners owns DueLire about a block and a half north on Lincoln Ave., so they should have a pretty good grasp of the market. The prices seem a bit on the steep side for this market in terms of getting locals in on weekday evenings.
