    Regarding Aboyer and George Trois:

From an e-mail received this morning:

"The enthusiasm that everyone has shown for Aboyer has been truly incredible, and we cannot be more grateful. But the love that everyone has shown has created a good problem for us. Specifically, we need more tables to serve our guests. The bittersweet answer for me is to expand Aboyer seating into the restaurant George Trois. George Trois will not be going away but rather taking on a new role for our business. I have planned monthly pop-up dinners and wine events as well as cooking classes to continue allowing George Trois to be the vibrant and beloved space in Winnetka that the North Shore and all of Chicago has come to love and appreciate. Effective immediately, reservations will be stopped for George Trois, and all existing reservations will be either refunded or relocated to Aboyer to enjoy the lovely menu that has been crafted for that restaurant."

Outback Steakhouse at Randhurst Village had closed, after 6 years. Signs recommend going to the next closest in Schaumburg.

I won't miss it - I think we went there once, and it was fine for what it was... but an ok steak at a mid-priced restaurant is not what I got out for.

Salsa Street at Randhurst Village appears to be closed. Lights were off prime time last Friday night, and their website under "Locations" only lists the Sleepy Hollow and Palatine units (although the site's first popup says "open for dine in at all three locations: Mount Prospect, Palatine and Sleepy Hollow" I'm guessing that's a post-COVID notice nobody's paid attention to). Google says "Temporarily Closed" so who knows, it could be back.
