Smoque Steak to Become
Brickton Hall Venue
and
Smoque Steak Events & Catering
In the summer of 2019, we began developing an idea for a different kind of steak and a different kind of steakhouse. Our unique concept would offer smoked and seared steaks. The steakhouse itself would be casual, approachable, and affordable enough for everyday dinner as well as for special occasion dining.
By the time we opened Smoque Steak in 2023, the economic and consumer behavioral shifts that came in the wake of the pandemic caused us to evolve the concept to accommodate some new realities, while still doing everything possible to remain true to the spirit of our original idea.
Since our opening, people have expressed great love for our menu, our smoked & seared steaks, as well as the more casual environment. But, it has become clear that despite our efforts and intentions, this is a product, a brand, and an experience that is much better suited for special occasions than for everyday dinners.
For this reason, we are changing course.
This September, we will convert our space on Elston Ave. into Brickton Hall – a boutique venue for weddings, social events, and corporate gatherings. We will offer programmed events, prix fixe dinners, and other special events which will not only feature our Steakhouse menu, but also other themes and cuisines.
We will also be launching Smoque Steak Events and Catering. Here, we will focus on bringing the “Steakhouse Experience” and other great catering options to you, whether you are hosting at venues, backyards, golf courses, tailgate lots, groves, or the lake.
To our truly wonderful guests, we are immensely grateful. Your support, patronage, encouragement, validation, and constructive feedback have been invaluable and have helped inform our decision to explore this new frontier.
It has been our honor and privilege to serve you at Smoque Steak. We look forward to seeing you in the future and helping you host your next special occasion or event… at our place or yours!
Our last day of regular service at Smoque Steak Restaurant is dinner on Sunday, August 25. We are currently accepting reservations through OpenTable and will do our best to accommodate walk-ins.
Stay tuned for details regarding our new Brickton Hall Venue and Smoque Steak Events & Catering.

Foxtail Restaurants to open a Mediterranean-style restaurant in the Glenview House. Foxtail already has a successful restaurant in an old Des Plaines church and Downers Grove and the redevelopment agreement sees Glenview giving them a $1.4 million gap assistance grant and a $1.5 million construction loan secured by an agreement to be paid back at 5 % interest over 10 years, explained Jeff Brady, director of community development in Glenview. The total cost of the project is about $5.25 million with the Village contributing $2.9 million.
