Just curious, what is your recipe for making fish dip. I would love to emulate!
Regards,
Esteemed forum, please forgive my replying to 1.) a six year old post, 2.) a question that was asked of someone else, and is not about shrimp dip, but this is so good I have to share it.
Back in May, I came across this recipe for Fast Shrimp Spread from (Hints from) Heloise:
Ingredients (with my substitution that makes it relevant to Calumet Fisheries):
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
4 ounces tiny cocktail shrimp, drained and rinsed (I substitued 1/4 lb. of Calumet Fisheries smoked shrimp, shelled, cleaned, and chopped into approx.1/4" pieces)
2 tablespoons seafood cocktail sauce (NOT Calumet Fisheries; I prefer Teibel's)
1/2 cup finely chopped onion (yellow, white, or red)
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
Directions:
Thoroughly mix the cream cheese and mayonnaise until well blended.
Mash or chop the shrimp and add to the mixture; stir in remaining ingredients. Refrigerate until needed. It’s best served at room temperature with crackers and veggies as a dip or spread on bread as a sandwich. Do not let it sit out for more than one
hour. This shrimp spread is a nice alternative to the usual dips found at parties
and will never fail to please your guests and family. — Heloise
The substitution of the smoked shrimp elevated this to another level. Hope you enjoy it.
