One small note. They weren't trying for Detroit style pizza. That was baseless speculation in the Tribune article.pairs4life wrote:I agree the pizza was different than what I expected of Detroit-Style largely because it was so light.
Your memory is correct. I overheard one of the Cellar Door guys saying they ran out of greens. For what it's worth, they were definitely the least important part of the salad.pairs4life wrote:That has got to be one of the best winter salads I have had in a very long time. I don't recall any green but the ribboned vegetables were ridiculously good.
100% agreed. Cellar Door wanted a party and they got/delivered a great one.pairs4life wrote:It felt like what I love about a GNR.

It was at Cellar Door Provisions, at Diversey & Whipple. Avondale/Logan = downtown to some folks who don't navigate the city much (not you given the mistake of fact).Chitown B wrote:MikeL wrote:"Downtown". LOL
Was it not in the food hall that's downtown? Maybe I'm mistaken.

I wonder if the plan is to make pizza like they did at the old shop (can't believe it's been 11 years), a version of Detroit style like they did at the pop-up at Cellar Door Provisions, or something different.
I also have to admit that I'm kind of looking forward to the many comments from customers mad they weren't coddled enough when eating there.
