Golden Corral sucks.

There were a dozen food islands offering everything from the standards to sushi, stir fry and hibachi grilled items. The food was fresh and constantly being replenished. There were people constantly cleaning the serving areas and the tables. Best part: Kids don't eat for free. Any other (of the few) Chinese buffets that I have tried pale in comparison.

Red Apple has two locations, both on Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago. Neither one is in Niles. You probably mean the one just north of Devon in Norwood Park, which is closer to Niles than the one just south of Belmont near Logan Square.

I suspect the main attraction of a buffet is the "all you can eat" aspect, rather than the "serve yourself" aspect. Churrascaria offers "all you can eat", so if that's what you're looking for, it counts. Same thing for Chinese restaurants offering unlimited dim sum at a fixed price.
