Silly question probably, but I'm a know nothing, what fish do they use? Tilapia? Been years since we've been there, but always impressed by the place.

InOn Thai with a few folks last night. Crispy fish with Jungle Salad may be the best dish in Chicagoland. And Don & Inon National Treasures.

Took a buddy there for dinner last pm. Food was mostly on point but remember the fried fish w/the jungle salad as being cubed and moist which was not the case. He didn't notice but I did. Highlights were the tom yum creamy style, fermented ribs, and mee krob. Tod mun not so much. A couple glitches but still quite good.

Sad to say there was 1 table of 2 sitting when we got there around 6 30 and when they left it remained empty for the length of our meal w/minimal take out.

Giving In-on Thai a deserved and perhaps needed bump. I had a leisurely dinner last night. There were only 2 tables full at 7 and while every table eventually filled, when I left at 8:30, there were once again only 2 tables full. Takeout appeared to be slow as well. There's no reason for this since the food remains fantastic.

The soup, the crispy fish with jungle salad and the red curry are all longtime favorites are were as good as ever. We requested spicy and got a perfect level - just enough to sweat but not enough to hurt. The pad see-ew wasn't my choice but I had a bite for research purposes and it's a very good rendition - a perfect choice for that friend or family member with a less adventurous palate.

I was the second diner for the above meal at In On this Friday and completely agree that the jungle fish stole the show.

The Tom Kha was also great. A good amount of acid. And they make my favorite curry in Chicago—really well balanced.

They respected our request for heat — it wasn’t melt your face hot, but did start a gentle burn.

I was very glad to eat in—I have only gotten take out before.

Made a trip to In On last night with two others. I usually like to go with a larger group for a bit more ordering power as there are so many things I really like. Got most of my favorites, but subbed pork with basil and bamboo shoots for the chicken with bamboo shoots in house made red curry. I figured that the beef in house made red curry could suffice.

Love the pork dish and won't be dropping it from my rotation any time soon. It's on the first page of the menu and a bit hard to find.

We are going to see a show at the Riviera soon and were thinking about going here for dinner. However, we have a pretty tight window of time so wanted to see if the service was quick/if there would be any tips on ordering with an eye for both flavor and speed. It can be challenging lining up babysitting, getting food and making it to the show on time. Thanks for any info folks have.

I was there a few weeks ago right when they opened. In fact, so early that we were advised that the chef had not arrived to work yet and that we'd need to wait. But once he arrived, our dishes came out quickly. Ordered various items and none took especially long. Sometimes they do a brisk carry out business so that would slow it down, but their baseline is speedy - not to mention very delicious!

They are brisk, even when busy.

Thanks everyone; we were able to have a delicious, if somewhat rushed, dinner here before our concert (also shout out to JoelF for a great parking tip). When we got there, every table but one was full and they were doing brisk take out as well. They were a bit in the weeds, but we were able to get dinner in time (crispy tofu app, massaman Curry and jungle fish). The food was great and it was a place we definitely want to return to be able to explore more of the menu. Thanks for putting this place on my radar.
