Well, I give them credit for hanging on for a year. That location, tucked into the corner hardly visible from the Oakton/Lincoln intersection and no parking certainly didn't help.

That is a crazy location. I have always been curious as to why that ever got built out into a restaurant, it has zero street presence.

Confirmed on their website after word spread quickly on social media over the weekend, owners of the longtime Czech stalwart Riverside Restaurant have decided to retire and will close April 19th. Much local wailing and gnashing of teeth; I'll miss the rye bread and goulash in particular.

I didn't notice the signage, but son #1 passed by the former TGI Fridays, former nondescript Korean steakhouse on Lake just east of Milwaukee in Glenview, and says that it's now Iron Age, a Korean all-you-can-eat.
It's not listed on their website http://ironagekoreansteakhouse.com/ so it may not yet be open. @PantherInTheDen - you're in that neighborhood all the time, have you seen anything?

I knew I'd seen that name elsewhere. They also opened in Wicker Park in the former Tozi (I think that was the name), http://www.yelp.com/biz/iron-age-korean-steakhouse-chicago, at 1265 N Milwaukee Ave.

Their website (above) doesn't list either of these locations in the drop-down list at the top, but Chicago is listed at the bottom (no supporting details, so quite the tease). Glenview isn't, yet.

The tesori website has this item pretty well buried:

Wilson’s Dogs has closed. I walked by there on Monday and the location looked abandoned. Yelp has confirmed the closure.

They prided themselves on their double cheeseburger, which was a copy of an In N Out 2x4 Animal Style burger (two mustard-grilled patties, four slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato and “secret sauce”). It was a damn fine burger and a very good facsimile. I’ll miss this neighborhood option.

Comings & Goings: Cajun seafood restaurant opens in Orland Park

Polish restaurant reopens in Justice after fire
It took a little longer than first expected, but Szarotka’s Restaurant in Justice was planing to hold its grand reopening Wednesday morning

The Polish restaurant at 8100 S. Roberts Road has been closed for repairs since a kitchen fire on Feb. 17.

The restaurant is noted for its Eastern European cuisine and is named for the white Alpine flower commonly known as edelweiss.

The restaurant, originally named Baltic, opened in 1989 offering Lithuanian cuisine. In later years, it was sold and the name was changed to Szarotka’s Hideaway Sports Bar.

    Nick’s Tavern opens second location
Lemont’s Nick’s Tavern has been serving up its famous one-pound Nick Burger at 221 Main St. since the business opened in 1945.

Last month, a second Nick’s opened its doors in Cedar Lake in northwest Indiana. The new location is at 13231 Wicker Ave. in the former home of Carlo’s Pizzeria and Big Butt BBQ, which closed earlier this year.

Their menu has grown some, but both locations still feature the Nick Burger.

 One guy (ironically named 'shakes') says it's certain doom to eat at Shake Shack while the very next guy thinks it's great news that they are coming. I've had it a few times. Overpriced - for sure. But I'd go back. The burger is decent but the chicken sandwich was really good. Have mercy!
