Suburban Meal pick-ups?

If you've seen my posts about the recent One Off Hospitality subscription, I'm really happy with the idea of an almost-completed high-end meal I can get out in the hinterlands.

I know I could drive into the city to pick up a meal from some of my favorite restaurants, but I'm just not downtown, like, ever. 30-60 minutes each way is just a pain. Meeting me partway, like One Off did in Northbrook (and Oak Park), and Sun Wah did in Wilmette (even though that had some snags), are exactly what I'm looking for.

Basically, if it's between I94 and US53 east-west, and IL22 and I90 north-south, it's probably in range. The idea that One Off had with once-a-week drop-offs was particularly cool: it sort of made date night come back again.

Does anyone know of providers who will be doing such deliveries? I've been scouring Tock's email and Eater, but I'm not seeing anything recently. I'm thinking that the holidays may be cutting into that right now, but I'm hoping some more items show up.

For that matter, where are the food trucks? Do any of them get out to the burbs?

A few weeks ago Manny's had some pickup stations in the suburbs.
I also seem to recall that Rick Bayless's operations did a suburban thing a few weeks ago, as well.
While the One-Off meal thing is complete, Publican has been offering various products, not meals, with suburban pick up locations.

That's all I can recall.

There is a lobster sandwich truck making the rounds in the suburbs. We tried it but the sandwich was very expensive and it was sort of bland.

On the food truck front, I did see that there are a bunch of trucks that will be appearing at the Kohl's Children's Museum's Kohlights festival this and next weekend (starting Dec 18, 2020), but the $25 (timed ticketed) admission fee just to grab dinner seems prohibitive.

I don't know how much longer they are going to be doing it, but the Evanston Rotary since the pandemic started has been doing a movie drive up in the parking lot of a car dealership. It is more family oriented films, but they always have at least one restaurant there. All of the money raised goes towards the pandemic. They just had one last week.

You can pick up meals from the Alinea group's restaurants (Alinea, Next, Roister, St Clair Supper Club) at the Chalet nursery in Wilmette, right off the Edens. For those in the western suburbs, they also offer pickups in Willowbrook. Details are on their Tock listing, where you can make your reservation.

I don't know the details but per an email, Parachute is offering a holiday meal kit that will be available for pick up in Glenview on 12/23.

I have not tried this yet, but I thought about it when I saw that some of the pickup locations were in the northwest suburbs.
