No bone, no Gary.
We “ate” an in-car Raising Cane pandemic lunch at the Harlem outlet about a year ago. Two bites in on the flaccid flavor void poultry punishment was tossed and we went to Culver’s down the street.
I don’t intend to waste food or $ again.
Not sure if this should go here, but also not sure if Dave's Hot Chicken needs its own thread. Anyway, I tried it yesterday at my son's urging, and it's way better than Raising Cane (My personal take on RC: it's fine. I don't get the cult-like following. They're okay chicken fingers).
DHC produced probably the best
fast food Nashville hot chicken sandwich I've had. I got the extra hot level (second highest behind "reaper"). I'd say it was a "nice" level of heat, and I'd probably stick with that next time (I think most fast food restaurants dumb down their heat levels... So while I'm not a huge spice head, "extra hot" at DHC's was perfect for me).
Great flavor, crisp on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside... All around great sandwich. And a word of warning re portion sizes:
My son and I each ordered a No. 2 special, which consisted of two "sliders" and a fries. I was a little shocked when the bill was over 30 bucks (no sodas)... But then I picked up the takeout bag which weighed about 5lbs. And then I read the fine print on the board, and saw each meal was like 1500 calories!
And those sliders... They're actually full sized sandwiches. I'd recommend splitting a No. 2 (fries were pretty okay crinkle cut with some seasoning). Definitely enough for two people. Maybe add an extra side.
