FYI = Annie’s is supposed to be the in-house restaurant for the new hotel being built just west of the current location.[/quote]

They just broke ground on that. Maybe they return. For now Annie's has a sign directing customers to their Mt. Prospect location.

Chicago-based Veteran Roasters has plans for a two-story coffee roastery, cafe, microbrewery and restaurant it says could create between 55 and 65 jobs for local veterans. The 16,000-square-foot project is planned for vacant land west of 111th Street and Doty Avenue, near the Pullman National Monument Visitor Center.

marothisu wrote:Trying to get a read on this but Xi'an Dynasty in Lincoln Park may have closed abruptly. If so then kind of sad. Google has it closed. We walked by today and everything is still in there but there was one of those locks with a code entry on it (like one of those realtor ones almost). Not sure if it's some landlord thing but I hope it's actually just temporary. No sign in the window and there was a normal update from them on their Google profile from 3 days ago to order food. I almost feel like someone saw the lock assumed they are closed forever and edited their profile.

They had a few pretty legit items on their menu and definitely had better stuff than the other major Xi'an place in town IMO.

Will try and find more but...very possible. Hope not.

Looks like they actually closed. RIP. Sucks...

In its place a new Japanese restaurant called 2AM Izakaya is opening. Might be from the same owners but I'm not sure. No other info at this point.

Bakin’ & Eggs on Lincoln has closed. From Facebook:

It took a minute to put feelings into words. We opened Bakin’ & Eggs in 2009, two years after opening Lovely and three years before opening Lovely, Too. We have employed and worked with so many amazing friends over the last 15 years, 12 years at Bakin’ & Eggs. We shut down with the rest of the world in March of 2020, and our closure lasted for 16 months. We reopened in July and while our optimism was sincere, the challenges were overwhelming. Our returning and new team members were the brightest light in a challenging time. We worked together, laughed together, navigated the “new” and ever changing normal together. And our bond was immediate and enduring, through our last day of service and beyond. Thank you for supporting us by dining in and ordering out, for loving Bakin’ & Eggs, and for embracing our family through our last days of service. We couldn’t have even attempted it without these precious friends, and there’s no one else we would have wanted to face it with. Our ultimate thanks goes to this incredible group of people who never gave up and who continue to bring us so much joy in friendship. Cheers and love to each of you. What a ride. XO B&G

I am personally against any dress code as they have proven time and time again to be purposefully discriminatory, but baggy clothing? Will they be inspecting how tight my clothing is to determine if I'm allowed in? Solid white teeshirts? What shade of gray is acceptable? Jackets?!

And for a burger place in the suburbs? Yeah, no thanks and I hope to see it closed soon. Head down the road to Spears if you want this kind of food.

Early reporting is no casualties but one person hospitalized with smoke inhalation.

Looks like the building is a total loss and any remnants will be demolished ASAP.

After a devastating fire, Twisted Hippo will join District Brew Yards, which is adding a Wheeling location.

Twisted Hippo continues to look for a new home of its own, but in the meantime will have its beer made and served alongside several other breweries at District Brew Yards’ original West Town location, plus a second facility District Brew Yards is opening in the fall in north suburban Wheeling.

District Brew Yards is opening in Wheeling on Thursday.
