No? Google shows Lucky Burger as permanently closed, and when I put the address of The Philly Special into Google Maps, it pointed to the exact same spot. Maybe it's next door. Anyway, I'm headed over to BiBim Town on Butterfield in a few minutes for lunch with the LTH North group, so I'll try to figure out where I went wrong.

I think the meaning there was 'not that lucky since they've closed.' I lol'd.

Anyway, yes, it is that location. I'm looking forward to trying a cheesesteak or hoagie from The Philly Special sometime soon.

Mrs Willie & I grabbed a pint at 10:15am on Saturday morning. Wait at that time was 2 hours for a table, but one could order a drink from the bar and utilize stand up table tops. There was a back room with chairs & another bar that folks just seemed to be using but seeing as we were there for only a pint we didn't feel the need to sit down.

I checked on the way out at 11:30am and wait for a table was 3 hours.

We'll go back after the opening hype has died down to have a meal.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

I did not see these posted but here but Taco's El Tio opened in the former El Carrito spot at Lincoln & Peterson.

Also not a closing but a change in ownership, I was sad to see that Sergios Taqueria & Pizza in North Park has new owners. Their thin crust pizza flew under the radar and I think I was up there with some of the best thin crust in the city. Hope the new owners keep the recipes!

I feel bad for those who now have to look for other employment but I can think of many sadder occurrences than this below average pizzaslinger closing its doors. In my experience, the promise of their 'brick oven' never found its way to their pizzas, which are consistently soft and gummy.

This has been in the works, I found something that said a zoning variance was approved for a four story residential development on that lot.
