    Seems like no thread yet?

We tried it recently and it was really impressive!
No reservations, so that can be tricky, but we enjoyed every item we had, including:

east coast and west coast oysters on the half shell with classic sauces
fries (shoestring with real peels and great flavor)
little gem salad with green goddess (just perfectly balanced crunchy and bright)
lobster roll (both hot and cold, excellent brioche bun, nice large pieces of claw)
pasta chitarra in a kind of mushroom carbonara prep, extremely unctuous and great
some very interesting beer selections and decent wine list

appreciable range of prices and ways of eating make it approachable for young people on dates, old people in groups, families (kid friendly burger, fried shrimp, mac n cheese and more)...

just very well executed, so we'll be back!

Previous mentions of Gretel were in the  Something to Drink rubric.
We attempted to stop in there on the Logan Square Draught Beer Preservation Society's "March Fourth for Froth" pub crawl; and scarfed the sheet with the draught selections, but the venue was so busy | crowded we could not be effectively served.
We backed off to Still Life by Solemn Oath.
It is a solid venue. I've tried the ramen there as well.

Since Gretel is from the same people behind Little Bad Wolf and the descriptions of the burgers are almost identical, it's no surprise that the burgers at Gretel are outstanding. I thought this one wasn't quite as juicy as the ones I've had at Little Bad Wolf, but it's still definitely a top tier burger.

The fries were also great (and definitely reminiscent of Little Bad Wolf).

The White Noise, made from St. George Terroir Gin, Salers, Italicus, Alessio Vermouth Bianco, and olive oil and served with a sprig of thyme, is also top notch.
